Paul Reed Smith's first guitar was built as a challenge to his college music professor for some credits. He got an “A” and decided to pursue his dream of making guitars for a living. Each guitar he built was road tested at gigs by Paul himself, and over time he tweaked his design until he had what we all now know and love as the PRS design. Played by such legends as Carlos Santana and Al Di Meola, every PRS guitar is the product of decades of testing, rethinking, and reinventing. The SE Standard Hollowbody is a versatile and comfortable guitar with musical midrange and superb resonance. The semi-hollow body provides an airy, sweet tone but with a twist of the tone knob, the dual humbuckers yield plenty of bright spank. Loaded with a pair of versatile 58/15 "S" humbuckers, it pumps out everything from crystal clean tones to thick and heavy crunch. It also features push/pull coil tapping on the tone control for even more sonic flexibility, and a PRS designed tremolo takes all the twisting, bending, and dive-bombing you can throw at it whilst maintaining rock-solid tuning stability.
